I think it’s astonishing how some of us can try so hard to continuously give back and be a good example, but then get overlooked. Then others are a disgrace to their chapter’s reputation constantly, but one day decide to “change” and everyone supports them.
That lets others think it is okay to rebel and do dreadful things that go against your chapter’s standards for years and then suddenly make a vow of sudden righteousness and all is forgiven.
Yes, we are supposed to support one another. HOWEVER how is supporting someone’s bad decisions and ignoring someone else’s valiant efforts supportive?
Decisions should be based off of the betterment of the chapter and what people have to offer, not what recently happened to someone in their personal life and why they might “need” something more than someone else.
You joined your chapter knowing you’d be a part of something greater than yourself, and with that, your actions will furthermore represent them. Disrespect yourself all you want, but remember that ALL you do will bounce back to represent how your chapter looks to others.
